Era Chantzari

First prize winner of the 20th Muse Classics International Music Competition in 2024, the young and dynamic cellist Era Chantzari has earned the appreciation of audiences for her thoughtful and expressive playing. While gaining performance experience as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestra member, she has already appeared in prestigious venues such as the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, as well as the Athens and Thessaloniki Concert Halls.

Biography

Young and dynamic cellist Era Chantzari began her musical journey at the age of six, when she took her first cello lessons. Born in Athens in 2007, she has since been developing her skills with dedication, earning the appreciation of audiences for her thoughtful and expressive playing.

Era Chantzari has been recognized with several awards for her musical achievements. In 2024, she won first prize in the 20th Muse Classics International Music Competition. She has also received top honors in the string music competition “O Filon” and the Panhellenic Music Competition “UNESCO.” At just nine years old, she earned second prize in the Maria Chairogiorgou-Sigara competition and was awarded a full scholarship from the Vergoti Foundation for her studies at the Athens Conservatory.

Since 2013, Era Chantzari has been gaining performance experience as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestra member. She joined the Camerata Junior chamber orchestra of the Athens Concert Hall at just nine years old and has appeared in renowned venues such as the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, representing Greece with the Youth Orchestra "El Sistema Europe" (S.E.Y.O.). Her notable solo performances include playing with the quartet L’ anima at 12 and with the Orchestra Camerata Junior at the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus in 2023. She has also performed contemporary music at the Stegi Onassis and participated in the Art Campus concerts at the Athens and Thessaloniki Concert Halls.

In 2024, Era Chantzari earned her cello diploma under the guidance of Professor Christophor Mirosnikov at the Erateio Conservatory. She has further enriched her education by participating in masterclasses with Denis Severin, Joel Marossi, Dimos Goudaroulis, Giannis Kormpetis, and Dimitri Karagianakidis.
