As the final concert of our first season, it’s a night of reflection, celebration, and anticipation for the future.
The evening opens with a special tribute: *Happy Birthday Variations* by Greek composer Leonidas Kanaris, written for and dedicated to Christophor Miroshnikov for his grand birthday in January 2024. This playful and engaging work sets the tone for a celebration of musical diversity and the milestone of our first season. From here, the program unfolds with a mix of rarely heard masterpieces and timeless gems, showcasing a range of duos and chamber works that span across centuries and styles.
Be prepared to be swept through a tapestry of musical wonders: a journey that spans centuries, from the elegance of the 18th century to the captivating intensity of modern compositions. Intimate duos weave into grand ensemble pieces, each revealing new facets of the chamber music experience. Highlights include a beautifully intricate duo for cello and double bass and a mesmerizing *Passacaglia* that will leave you spellbound. And don’t miss a breathtaking duo performed by special guests from Switzerland.
Then, just as the night reaches its peak, prepare for a grand finale in celebration of Glinka’s 220th birth anniversary: the exhilarating “Grand Sextet” for piano, strings, and double bass.
